Pastors Steve and Cheryl Ingram are Kenneth Copeland Ministry Partners who currently pastor a church in Florida. Their days of ministry began long before becoming pastors, as they traveled with their own band in the Jesus Movement of the ’70s. It was during their band days that they initially connected with KC when Steve was contracted to record an album with Kenneth Copeland. Steve was eventually recruited to be a pianist on the road with the ministry.
When they moved to Dallas/Fort Worth, they were severely in debt, and also had been unable to get pregnant. Steve shared, “We found out quickly we didn’t know much about faith when we got here.” But the Ingrams recognized something unique about the anointing on Kenneth Copeland’s teaching. Therefore, they decided that in every meeting, when they were not leading worship, they would study and learn from Brother Copeland. When Steve was traveling with the ministry and Cheryl was at home, she would listen to the teachings on cassette tape.
During one trip, Cheryl was home alone and became very sick. She went to a specialist and the specialist insisted on doing emergency surgery. She told him, “No,” and went to the KCM office. After hearing the diagnosis that she would never become pregnant, the women in the office gathered around her and began praying. One of the women then connected Cheryl to another doctor. He confirmed the diagnosis, but he said, “Now Cheryl, I know you are believing God. I’m going to agree with you. We are going to use our faith, and we are going to get through this.”
God responded to their faith! He performed a miracle, and she conceived. Today, 41 years later, their son is alive and well, serving the Lord and married, with a growing family. Cheryl says, “We connected with the spirit of faith, people of like precious faith. This was the answer to our life situation. Everybody is faced with challenges in life. But we learned the Word and how to apply it on purpose to that situation. It changed our lives.”
