I was raised in a Christian home, but my faith was head-knowledge only. As a teen, I became fascinated with martial arts and Eastern mysticism, delving further into witchcraft and sorcery. Even though I hid my practices from my family, I was swept into the depths of the occult – conjuring spirits, performing divination, and seeking power through spells and rituals. For years, I never realized a demonic spirit could attach itself to a person in the form of a “spirit spouse.” Through my deliverance ministry, I’ve encountered countless individuals—men and women, from childhood to adulthood—who’ve been tormented in dreams or even physically by these intrusive spirits. Often, it began with an open door: early curiosity, molestation, sexual sin, or even witchcraft in the family. Several have shared vivid dreams of being given a ring and “married” in the spirit, suffering nightly harassment and marital chaos.

One woman had ten separate spirit spouses named “Spice,” all discovered during deliverance. Another discovered she’d received a ring from a spirit called “Sagittarius,” connected to astrology and a specific birthstone. A man in a long marriage traced his troubles to a spirit named “Amy,” which had entered him as a boy of ten. Still others, like “Abel,” were controlled by a demon calling itself “Lilith,” driving them into cross-dressing and prostitution.

We find that spirit spouses are intensely jealous, pushing aside legitimate spouses and fueling anger, accusation, and eventual divorce. Only by breaking the legal rights—repenting of the sin that opened the door, renouncing soul ties, divorcing the demonic union, and commanding the spirit to leave in the name of Jesus—can people be truly set free. Spiritual warfare is real, but there is hope and victory through Christ.
