By the next morning, I could feel energy surging through my body in a way I had not felt since my teens. My mind cleared, my strength returned, and the oppressive weight of sickness lifted completely. Today, I walk in wholeness, praising God for bringing me out of 38 years of illness and into a life full of renewed purpose and joy.

I’m Ken Chinn. Going into the Christmas season of 2021, I was healthy, strong, and on no medication. Suddenly, I tested positive for COVID-19, and my health spiraled downward at a terrifying rate. Within days, pneumonia set in, and doctors bluntly expected me to die. While in the hospital, alone and gasping for breath, I spent an entire night wrestling with God in prayer—just like Jacob in Genesis 32—determined to cling to life. As my body weakened, I pleaded for my daughter’s sake, not wanting to leave her behind. In the midst of my desperate groaning, a tangible white, glowing light appeared on my chest and arms for about half an hour. It rippled with living power and brought an unexplainable peace. Soon after, I sensed the Holy Spirit whisper, “You shall live and declare the glory of God,” which flooded me with hope. Against the odds, I survived the night without a ventilator, and over the next month, God restored me day by day—so much so that hospital staff called me a ‘warrior’ who’d beaten the “COVID Two-Step.” I later revisited the sixth-floor team who helped me through my worst hours. It blessed them just to see me walk in and thank them. This journey forever deepened my faith and prayer life, proving that when the Word of God is our only option, He meets us there with power to heal and restore.
