My 17-year-old son, Phoenix, collapsed while riding his bicycle on a hot day, and his heart completely stopped. Medics found him unresponsive, without a pulse for nearly an hour—an impossible scenario with zero chance of survival, according to medical statistics. Yet God intervened. A passerby who never used that back alley “felt prompted” to drive there and discovered Phoenix. Emergency teams tried multiple methods to revive him, all seemingly in vain, until a final attempt miraculously restarted his heart. Though doctors believed he would never recover—too much time had passed without oxygen—Phoenix steadily defied every dire prognosis. Step by step, he regained speech, movement, and cognition. His remarkable healing story, along with our testimony of prayer and faith, moved countless doctors, nurses, and first responders. We chose faith over fear, trusting God’s Word and presence in the darkest moments. Today, Phoenix continues physical therapy and shows everyone that miracles still happen for God’s glory. We remain certain that the ultimate purpose of our story—of Phoenix being resurrected from the brink—has been, and will be, the salvation and inspiration of many souls.
