KCM Partner Linda Herbert is a retired Army colonel who was in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. On that fateful morning as she walked down the corridor toward her office, she felt that it was an unusual morning.

Then the people in her office saw the planes hit the World Trade Center towers on the television. They couldn’t believe their eyes. They were convinced they were watching some sort of spoof.

At that very moment, Linda’s superiors called everyone together and placed them in a different office, informing them that they were going on a 24-hour full alert. As she walked back down the corridor, her superior stopped to talk to her. This positioned her perfectly behind a beam as a plane impacted right where her office was. It exploded instantly, and she heard a voice yell, “Get down!”

Linda immediately dropped to the floor, and began to pray in tongues. Chaos and confusion were everywhere—no one knew which way to turn or what to do. Linda knew that the only thing she had to guide her was the Holy Spirit. The command GET OUT NOW! welled up within her, and she was given a quick vision of a particular set of doors. She began running down a stair bay and came to another corridor. She heard the Lord say, Go left! and she obeyed.

Because she could hear explosions going off all around her, she wasn’t sure if she was going in the right direction, but she trusted the Holy Spirit to guide her. She ran in that direction with all she had. In the end, Linda and some colleagues were able to reach safety—all within an estimated 17 seconds. After that 17 seconds, a fireball roared through and scorched everyone in its path.

Linda knew that if she had not obeyed God immediately, she would’ve died that day. She was well aware of the importance of having the Word embedded in your spirit, after years of following Kenneth Copeland’s teachings. Her experience only solidified what she knew to be true—When you keep the Word in your heart and speak that Word by faith, you’ll come through any situation!
