Summary

I was born in 1929 in a time of hardship and grew up amid the chaos of the Depression and a disrupted family. To escape the turmoil, I retreated to the attic of our large Victorian house, where isolation set in. At age 13, a Christian group introduced me to the gospel for the first time, igniting a spark in my heart. Later, my pastor – a man whose own secret life conflicted with his public ministry – confronted me about my emerging homosexual identity. Confused and desperate for acceptance, I wrestled with my identity for years, living a life immersed in the gay culture of San Francisco. Over time, the emptiness and destructive lifestyle led me to a crisis point where I turned to God in prayer. That prayer marked a turning point: I encountered Jesus in a powerful way, and His forgiveness and love redeemed me from my past. Today, I stand as a testimony to the transformative power of Christ, having been restored and made new.
