Summary

I grew up with the notion that Jews had the “Old” Testament and Gentiles had the “New,” so I never dreamed Jesus could be Jewish like me. Curiosity got the best of me, and I secretly picked up a New Testament from the library—only to discover right away that it was written by Jews, about a Messiah who was born in a Jewish village, worshiped in Jewish synagogues, and fulfilled promises from the Hebrew Scriptures. For a while, I kept my faith in Yeshua hidden from my father, afraid he’d think I’d joined some cult. Eventually, he too started reading about Jesus, and one day, we both raised our hands in a meeting where Jewish believers in Christ were asked to identify themselves. That moment proved how real the transformation was for both of us. I realized trusting Yeshua is the most Jewish thing I could do—He’s the very Messiah promised to our people in passages like Isaiah 53. Seeing these truths for myself changed my life and confirmed that faith in Jesus doesn’t betray my heritage; it completes it.
