Former Lesbian PTSD Survivor, Saved by Jesus!
Summary
I grew up experiencing childhood sexual abuse and fatherly absence, searching desperately for acceptance and love. That woundedness led me into drugs, alcohol, and lesbian relationships, as well as living in anger and rejection. Still, God kept showing grace, sparing me when my life fell into total chaos. Eventually, I picked up a Bible and truly grasped Jesus’ sacrifice for my sin; His love and mercy broke through my hurt and bondage. Once I repented and surrendered to Christ, He led me out of addiction, healed deep trauma, and freed me from homosexual sin. Now, I’m pursuing biblical counseling to help others facing PTSD, abuse, and broken identities. God’s grace transformed my life entirely—He gave me a new heart, a loving church family, and a calling to point others to the truth of the gospel so they, too, can find hope in Jesus Christ.

PTSD from childhood sexual abuse, a gun incident, and an absent father had Katrika seeking for love, comfort, and peace. She was a teenage mother whose life was filled with lesbian and bi-sexual relationships, as well as drugs and alcohol. Through God’s saving grace and mercy, Katrika was saved into her new life as a born-again Christian podcast host, who disciples women who are facing some of the same struggles she has had in the past, by pointing them to Jesus.
Katrina’s websites are: https://livetruth.fireside.fm for her podcast episodes and

Katrika has a Biblical Counseling Certificate from Biblical Counseling Center. Katrika is currently pursuing a Certification in Biblical Counseling through ACBC and a Certification to become a Mental Health Coach through AACC. She is also enrolled at Liberty University, where she will pursue her BA in Psychology-Christian Counseling; upon completion, she plans to pursue her MA in Clinical Mental Health and Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Community Care and Counseling – Traumatology with the ultimate goal of opening a Biblical Clinical Counseling Practice.
Katrika’s driving factor for all she does is for God to be Glorified and her life verses: Acts 20:24 “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful Grace of God”, 2 Timothy 2:10 “So, I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen,” and Philippians 1:20-21 “as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
